Co-owners, Lindsay and Mike, spent over a decade working at high end restaurants; the likes of Michelin starred House of Tides, Paul Rankins and Jesmond Dene House. Deciding to start their own project while working together, the idea of rebel was born.
Rebel opened in April 2022, and within the first few months achieved a spot in both the Michelin and Good Food Guide.
The following year, Ro opened its doors - a relaxed bar with curated cocktails, following rebel's ethos.

Restaurant Rebel is located in the up and coming Newcastle suburb Heaton, tucked away on Heaton Park Road. A dream project for Lindsay Rushton and Mike Reid, Rebel encompasses their desire to bring something different to the Newcastle food scene. Their aim was to break the stereotype of what fine dining is. Rebel is focussed on the best local produce, a unique wine selection, an immersive playlist, and championing the regions suppliers.
